Help & FAQ

Answers to common FLEX-5 questions. Need something else? Email support@atomiotech.com.

How many sound files can the FLEX-5 store?+

The FLEX-5 can support up to 250 custom MP3 or WAV files for playback under PLC control.

What is the default IP address and how do I configure the device?+

The default address is 192.168.1.199:8080. Open that address in a web browser to reach the configuration interface, adjust network settings, and establish the PLC connection — then restart the device for the changes to take effect.

How do I connect the FLEX-5 to my PLC?+

Enter your PLC's IP address in the built-in web UI. The FLEX-5 communicates over EtherNet/IP and shows live connection status so you know the link is healthy before you run a batch.

How does the FLEX-5 recover data if a USB stick is missing or fails?+

Every batch is also archived on the device (the most recent 30 files / 30 days). If a copy fails, the PLC fault bit is raised and the web UI shows the reason. Insert a healthy stick and use 'Copy Selected to USB', or trigger PLC-initiated recovery to backfill the latest files.

What USB format does the FLEX-5 require?+

Format the USB stick as NTFS (or FAT32 where noted) and make sure it mounts as the expected USB volume. You can pulse the USB presence-check bit to confirm a stick is detected before finalizing a batch.
